Thankful Thursday 8

Thankful Thursday: What CHRIXEAN is thankful for this week

1) Nicky's silver medal award. My son garnered 2nd honor this year and will be receiving a silver medal on his graduation day from pre-school. I am so proud of him! I know school has been really tough for him this past year (what with trying to learn Filipino, when I myself did really poorly in it when I was in school), and for him to make Silver is a great achievement for me :-)

2) The start of The Amazing Race! It's one of my favorite reality shows ever (next to American Idol) and I look forward to every episode for my thrill fix for the day (I just love watching all the bickering that goes on! hehe).

3) This really great book I found (AGAIN):

It's from the same author of "What To Expect When The New Baby Comes Home" (which I talked about in this earlier post), Heidi Murkoff. I realized that at this stage, this book was a more appropriate read because it prepared Nicky of the baby's coming as early as the 1st month of gestation. It explained everything a young 6 year old needed to know (and could understand): Where's the baby? How did the baby get there (This was a toughy. Explaining sperms and ovums to a 6-year old just didn't seem right yet...)? How did the baby fit inside mommy? It's a great series which I highly recommend to moms-to-be!

4) I didn't have as bad a week (the afternoon-to-evening-sickness) as last week. I enjoyed eating a lot more and I even enjoyed a night out with a close friend without wanting to run to the bathroom every other half hour.

I love American Idol too but I've never really watched the Amazing Race much. That is a great book to read to your little one. I got it for my son when I was pregnant with #2. He still enjoys reading it!

Congratulations to your little guy - give him a hug from me - would you :)
Oh, I am so glad to hear that your week went much better than the previous weeks.
Oh no, I forgot that the new season of Amazing Race started - well, I guess I have to catch up on-line and watch from here on out. You know, to be honest, that is the only TV show I watch. We mostly watch movies, if watching anything on TV at all.
I am writing my TT right now - well after I hit the publish button - lol...Just here to pick-up my code.
(((hugs)))

Congratulations to Nicky!!!

Btw, I like the book. Good idea to give as a gift to friends who are having another baby.

Does that book track back to "What to Expect When You're Expecting"? I remember reading that when my wife was pregnant with our first baby.

I'm thankful you didn't have a bad week, too. That's always good news. Hopefully, next week you'll be feelin' even better. I heard morning sickness can be horrible stuff (Thankfully, I've never had it)
